Hello and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League fixture between Manchester United and Everton.
Manchester United are in a tense race for the Champions League places after their defeat to Newcastle last weekend. Erik ten Hag’s side did bounce back with a win against Brentford on Wednesday, but they still remain behind the Magpies in the league table. Goalscoring has been the main problem for the Red Devils as only Fulham and Aston Villa have scored fewer goals than them out of the top half of the table.
Michael Keane’s last-minute winner against Tottenham kept Everton above the drop zone on goal difference. Sean Dyche’s team have not lost in their last four Premier League matches but have only won once. Three points today could take the Toffees up to 12th in the table, but their main priority will be at least a draw.
Manchester United (4-2-3-1): David de Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia; Scott McTominay, Marcel Sabitzer; Antony, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho; Marcus Rashford.
SUBS: Jack Butland, Victor Lindelof, Anthony Martial, Christian Eriksen, Fred, Raphael Varane, Diogo Dalot, Wout Weghorst, Facundo Pellistri.
SUBS: Asmir Begovic, Nathan Patterson, Mason Holgate, Yerry Mina, Vitalii Mykolenko, Neal Maupay, Tom Davies, Conor Coady, James Garner.
Everton (4-3-3): Jordan Pickford; Seamus Coleman, Michael Keane, James Tarkowski, Ben Godfrey; Alex Iwobi, Idrissa Gueye, Andre Onana; Demarai Gray, Ellis Simms, Dwight McNeil.
The players are coming out of the tunnel and onto the pitch!
Although Everton's defending has been well below par, Dyche will be pleased that they still have a chance to get at least a point from this game. Ten Hag will be demanding his side to be more clinical in front of goal to secure the win.
That's all for today, goodbye!
The win moves Man United into third place for the time being while Everton remain in 16th, but they could be in the relegation zone by the end of the weekend. The Red Devils face Sevilla in the Europa League before facing Nottingham Forest in the league, while Everton host Fulham next Saturday.
