Hello and welcome to live coverage of this Premier League meeting between Newcastle United and Liverpool from St James' Park!
Newcastle will look to end a 68-year wait for a domestic trophy when they take on Manchester United in next week's EFL Cup final, but they have a huge Premier League assignment to deal with before then as Liverpool visit St James' Park. The Magpies remain on course to seal Champions League qualification having gone 17 league games unbeaten, but Liverpool are the only side to beat them in the Premier League this term and would move within six points of them with an away win.
NEWCASTLE UNITED (4-3-3): Nick Pope; Kieran Trippier, Sven Botman, Fabian Schar, Dan Burn; Elliot Anderson, Joelinton, Sean Longstaff; Allan Saint-Maximin, Alexander Isak, Miguel Almiron.
NEWCASTLE UNITED SUBS: Martin Dubravka, Paul Dummett, Jamaal Lascelles, Anthony Gordon, Callum Wilson, Matt Ritche, Jamal Lewis, Javier Manquillo, Jacob Murphy.
LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Andrew Robertson; Stefan Bajcetic, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson; Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool secured a huge result in midweek to defeat Everton in the Merseyside derby courtesy of goals from Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo. The Reds can close within six points of Newcastle in fourth place with a victory today. Their win over Everton ended a four-match winless run in the Premier League and Jurgen Klopp will be hopeful that his side can now build momentum ahead of a crucial point in their season in both league and Europe.
There will be a moment of applause before kick-off in memory of former Newcastle player Christian Atsu.
Jurgen Klopp will be satisfied with his side's performance going forward, but will be concerned about their defending at times. Newcastle have found joy at set-pieces and could have been back in game had Burn's effort found the net rather than the bar. There's still work ahead for the Merseysiders.
Liverpool take on Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League round-of-16 clash on Tuesday at Anfield. Newcastle face Manchester United in the EFL Cup final at Wembley next Sunday.
