Despite being a second-half substitute, Dimarco has already attempted more crosses, with 10, than any other player on the pitch. They have not all been successful, but his desire to get forward certainly helped Inter come back into the tie.
115'
It may have taken them until extra-time, but Inter finally seem to have control of this match. Parma have less than five minutes to send the game to penalties, but their chances have been few and far between for the majority of this contest.
113'
M. Škriniar enters the game and replaces J. Correa.
Inzaghi appears to be shutting up shop with Skriniar on for Correa for the final few minutes.
110'
F. Acerbi has scored a goal for Inter Milan!
GOAAALLLL - INTER 2-1 PARMA - Acerbi is the unlikely hero as he heads Inter into the lead. In the end, it is Buffon that has assisted him as he punched Dimarco's cross straight into the path of Acerbi. He still had a tonne of work to do, but he used the power of Buffon's punch to head into an empty net. Fine reactions from Acerbi, and now it is Parma that are left chasing the game.
106'
We are back underway, can either side find a winner before penalties?
105'
F. Dimarco gets yellow.
A. Circati enters the game and replaces L. Valenti.
Dimarco's next involvement is to be carded and that should be the last action of the first 15 minutes of extra-time.
After a hard-working display, Valenti makes way for Circati for the final 15 minutes of extra-time.
104'
That's more like it. The execution was way off, but Dimarco tried to put his team in front with an ambitious volley from the edge of the penalty area.
103'
Parma will be delighted with their performance in extra-time so far, but in fairness, they have had very little to do since we entered this period. With Inzaghi introducing multiple forwards, he would have hoped to see more from his team.
98'
Inter may have overexerted themselves in the dying minutes, as they have failed to build on that goal since extra-time started.
Minute
Description
93'
It has been a lively start to extra-time already, with Correa appealing for a penalty after a challenge from Balogh. The officials waved away the appeals immediately, and replays showed they were correct to do so.
91'
After some brief team-talks, we are back underway in Milan.
90' +1
Four minutes of stoppage time to come...can either side get a winner?
88'
L. Martínez has scored a goal for Inter Milan!
GOAAALLLLL - INTER 1-1 PARMA - Finally, Inter kept their composure in the Parma box, and it was Martinez who slotted the ball home. Parma's clearance fell to the Argentina international inside the box, and he took one touch before smashing the ball into the top corner. Buffon was left helpless, and now Inter have three minutes to find a winner.
84'
Both managers have laid their cards on the table, and it is up to Inter to try and rescue this Coppa Italia contest. If they are to do so, they will need to do something they have failed to do all evening, which is show some quality in the final third.
81'
M. Darmian enters the game and replaces R. Gosens.
F. Acerbi enters the game and replaces D. D'Ambrosio.
V. Mihăilă enters the game and replaces S. Sohm.
Inzaghi turns back to his bench for a second time, with Acerbi replacing D'Ambrosio.
Sohm, who got the assist for Parma's goal is also given an early night, with Mihaila getting less than 10 minutes to shine.
With Bernabe on a yellow card, Pecchia has decided to take no chances and Hainaut will now see the game out.
Full-back Darmian is also now out there, with Gosens the one to return to the bench.
80'
A. Hainaut enters the game and replaces Adrián Bernabé.
79'
D. Camara gets yellow.
Camara's first involvement is to pick up a yellow card after a sloppy challenge in midfield.
76'
While Inter have certainly picked up the tempo and asked more questions of Parma's defence, they still have yet to force Buffon into a save. The veteran has really helped his team stay calm under pressure. Can he do it for another 15 minutes?
74'
R. Inglese enters the game and replaces A. Benedyczak.
D. Camara enters the game and replaces N. Estévez.
Camara is also now on the field, with Alvarez now taking his place on the bench.
Pecchia responds to Inter's subs by making two of his own, with Benedyczak making way for Inglese.
71'
Parma's defensive capabilities are going to be tested in the next 20 minutes, with Inter now surging forward at every opportunity. The triple substitution has certainly gone down ell with the fans, but for now, Inter are still trailing at home.
68'
Inzaghi has now played his cards; it is now up to Inter's players to drag them over the line in this Coppa Italia tie. Dzeko's presence will undoubtedly help them in the final third, but they need more from Martinez and Gosens.
67'
Inzaghi looks to have changed his formation, with Mkhitaryan replaced by striker Dzeko.
Despite a decent performance, Dumfries also makes way, with Bellanova now on in his place.
66'
R. Bellanova enters the game and replaces D. Dumfries.
E. Džeko enters the game and replaces H. Mkhitaryan.
F. Dimarco enters the game and replaces A. Bastoni.
Inzaghi's first substitution sees Bastoni replaced by Dimarco.
63'
It looks like we are about to see some changes from Inter, with two players now making their way back to the bench for a final discussion over tactics.
61'
The home fans are starting to get a little restless at what they are watching, and they have so far felt the need to urge Inter forward at every opportunity. Perhaps that shows how poor Inter have been, that the fans are trying their best to get them firing.
58'
Inter have struggled to retain possession in the final third, so the introduction of Dzeko could certainly help that. We are approaching the hour mark, so we should expect changes soon from Inzaghi.
48'
Sadly for Inter fans, their team have not improved in the first few minutes of the second half, even though they continue to set the tempo on home soil. For now, Parma are keeping them at bay and in truth, looking relatively comfortable.
46'
We are back underway, with neither side making any changes at the interval.
45' +2
HALF-TIME - INTER 0-1 PARMA.
45' +1
Adrián Bernabé gets yellow.
Bernabe becomes the first player carded after a clumsy challenge on Gosens on the edge of Parma box.
45'
Two minutes of stoppage time to come in this Coppa Italia contest!
41'
That goal came against the run of play, but it is punishment for Inter, who have been off the boil all evening.
38'
S. Jurić has scored a goal for Parma! Assist by S. Sohm.
GOAAAALLL - INTER 0-1 PARMA - INCREDIBLE! Just seconds after nearly falling behind, Serie B side Parma are in front in Milan. Substitute Juric has sent the travelling fans wild, with a piledriver from range proving too much for Onana. The Parma midfielder had a small window to shoot in, but he took it in style, and you may not see a better goal all season in the Coppa Italia.
Sohm will claim the assist after his simple pass inside to Juric. The sub then did the rest, what a goal!
34'
Gosens is one of the only Inter players who deserves any praise after the first 30 minutes, and Inzaghi really needs to lift his players at the break.
31'
Parma fans can breathe a sigh of relief, with Bernabe now back on the pitch and happy to continue until half-time at least.
26'
S. Jurić enters the game and replaces D. Man.
Man has made way for Juric, which will be a real disappointment for Parma.
18'
Parma nearly created an opening to score, but Sohm's run from the halfway line was eventually smothered as he was about to shoot. Inzaghi's side are still struggling to break their Serie B visitors down, but we know the quality they have within their ranks.
15'
Correa and Martinez might as well not have bothered getting dressed at this point, with Inter really struggling to bring either of them into the match. While Parma have not played poorly, it is largely Inter's slow start that has contributed to the pair being quiet.
12'
Parma's defence has shown no signs of breaking, and they will have just gained confidence after clearing back-to-back Inter corners.
9'
Sloppy is probably the best way to describe Inter's performance during the opening exchanges. Onana and several members of the defence have already misplaced passes, and things need to improve if the champions want to take the lead.
7'
Parma have set up with a defensive mindset which is as we expected, but Inter have not gotten into any form of rhythm. Onana and the back three have seen plenty of the ball, and they need to start working it forward when they get the opportunity.
3'
It has been a very low-key start in Milan but the crowd are more than up for the occasion, with Buffon's first touch met by a chorus of boos.
CHANCE! Parma have the first shot on goal, but Vazquez failed to generate any power on his effort from inside the box, and Onana was able to make a comfortable save.
1'
We are underway in Milan!
Good evening and welcome to tonight's live coverage of the Coppa Italia clash between Inter Milan and Parma. The defending champions begin the defence of their trophy with a match on home soil, and they will be expected to overcome a Parma side that now plays their football in the second tier of Italian football.
Inter beat Juventus 4-2 after extra-time to lift the trophy in May 2022, but this is their first match in this season's competition. Parma have already beaten Salernitana and Bari to reach this stage.
Inter are unbeaten in four matches in the Serie A, and that form has helped them move up to fourth in the league table. Parma have recently tumbled down the Serie B standings after winning just one of their previous six games.
INTER (3-5-2): Andre Onana; Alessandro Bastoni, Stefan de Vrij, Danilo D'Ambrosio; Robin Gosens, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Kristjan Asllani, Roberto Gagliardini, Denzel Dumfries; Joaquin Correa, Lautaro Martinez
PARMA (4-3-3): Gianluigi Buffon; Lautaro Valenti, Yordan Osorio, Botond Balogh, Enrico Del Prato; Nahuel Estevez, Adrian Bernabe, Simon Sohm; Adrian Benedyczak, Franco Vazquez, Dennis Man
SUBS: Alex Cordaz, Gabriel Brazao, Edin Dzeko, Raoul Bellanova, Francesco Acerbi, Federico Dimarco, Matteo Darmian, Milan Skriniar, Dennis Curatolo, Valentín Carboni, Mattia Zanotti, Alessandro Fontanarosa, Issiaka Kamate, Aleksandar Stankovic.
SUBS: Leandro Chichizola, Edoardo Corvi, Gabriel Charpentier, Gennaro Tutino, Ange-Yoan Bonny, Cristian Ansaldi, Antoine Hainaut, Drissa Camara, Stanko Juric, Woyo Coulibaly, Valentin Mihaila, Alessandro Circati, Roberto Inglese
The two teams are on the pitch and we are moments away from kick-off.
Inzaghi may give his team 10 or 15 minutes to improve, but it will not be long before he turns to his bench for a fresh set of legs.
Martinez's 88th-minute strike rescued Inter, for now at least, as the two teams prepare for extra-time. We must find a winner this evening at San Siro, and even though they have been poor, Inter will be the favourites to get the job done. Parma were on the back foot for the majority of the second 45 minutes, and they will do well to take this match to penalties.
A quick break for both sides, with neither team able to take the lead after the first 15 minutes of extra-time. Both sides had decent chances to change the scoreline, but the nerves are starting to show inside San Siro.
FULL-TIME - INTER 2-1 PARMA.
Parma's focus will now return to their Serie B campaign, and promotion will be at the forefront of their mind after taking Inter all the way tonight. If they can maintain the same spirit they showed this evening, then anything is possible for the Italian giants. Inter will no doubt learn from this experience, and it would be a surprise to see them play so poorly when they face Verona on Saturday night.
That is all for tonight folks, thanks for joining us. Goodbye!
