Hello and welcome to live match coverage of the Premier League fixture between Bournemouth and Arsenal at Vitality Stadium.
Bournemouth come into this match looking to bounce back after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Burnley last time out. Arsenal, meanwhile, will be seeking to build on their 0-0 draw with Everton in their previous league game.
BOURNEMOUTH (3-5-2): Aaron Ramsdale; Steve Cook, Chris Mepham, Jack Simpson; Jack Stacey, Lewis Cook, Jefferson Lerma, Dan Gosling, Ryan Fraser; Callum Wilson, Joshua King.
ARSENAL (4-2-3-1): Bernd Leno; Ainsley Maitland-Niles, David Luiz, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Bukayo Saka; Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira; Reiss Nelson, Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang; Alexandre Lacazette.
BOURNEMOUTH SUBS: Artur Boruc, Philip Billing, Gavin Kilkenny, Andrew Surman, Junior Stanislas, Harry Wilson, Dominic Solanke.
ARSENAL SUBS: Emiliano Martínez, Shkodran Mustafi, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Matteo Guendouzi, Joseph Willock, Emile Smith Rowe, Nicolas Pepe.
The home side come into this clash having won just two of their previous 12 Premier League matches and currently find themselves 14th in the table. Moreover, Eddie Howe’s team last enjoyed a home victory at the start of November when they beat Manchester United 1-0. Arsenal, on the other hand, have been victorious on only one occasion in their previous six away matches and come into this fixture sat in 11th, just four points above their opposition.
The teams are out, and kick-off will soon be upon us here at Vitality Stadium.
The hosts will be pleased with their first-half performance and will look to continue in much the same fashion after the restart. King and Stacey have caused problems down either flank due to the attacking nature of Arsenal’s full-backs and that is an area that Bournemouth will seek to further exploit after the break. The Gunners, meanwhile, will need to be far more ruthless if they are to turn this around in the second half. Arteta will need Lacazette to improve after the restart with the Frenchman sending all of his attempts off target during the opening 45 minutes.
Bournemouth travel to Brighton in their next league match as they look to build on this result. Arsenal, meanwhile, host local rivals Chelsea when they will seek to respond with a win and secure Arteta’s first victory as head coach.
That brings an end to our coverage of the Premier League fixture between Bournemouth and Arsenal at Vitality Stadium. Thank you very much for joining us. Goodbye!
