We're underway at Vitality Stadium.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Bournemouth and Liverpool at Vitality Stadium.
Bournemouth are plummeting down the Premier League table after losing their last four matches on the bounce. Eddie Howe's men are outside the relegation zone by a point and the one team they will not want to have seen this week is a rampant Liverpool side. The Cherries have not been able to stem the tide over the last month, although three of their losses have come on the road. They will need a special effort this afternoon to earn a positive result against the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp's men continued their march at the top of the Premier League with a 5-2 hammering of their rivals Everton in the Merseyside derby during the week. A first-half onslaught all but decided the contest, extending their unbeaten run in the top flight to a club record 32 matches. The Reds hold an eight-point lead over Leicester at the top and looking dominant in their pursuit of the crown. Perhaps the one blight has been their defensive performances, although the quality of their attacking play has been more than a mitigating factor and it should continue this afternoon.
BOURNEMOUTH (4-4-2): Aaron Ramsdale; Simon Francis, Chris Mepham, Nathan Ake, Diego Rico; Ryan Fraser, Jefferson Lerma, Philip Billing, Arnaut Groeneveld; Callum Wilson, Dominic Solanke.
BOURNEMOUTH SUBS: Artur Boruc, Dan Gosling, Andrew Surman, Jordon Ibe, Lewis Cook, Jack Stacey, Jack Simpson.
LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Alisson; Joe Gomez, Dejan Lovren, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson; James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita; Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Bournemouth have offered next to nothing in the final third. They had one opening through Arnaut Groeneveld as he latched on to Ryan Fraser's cross, but he failed to guide his low strike on target. It's going to be an uphil challenge from here to force a positive result from this situation for the home side.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
Bournemouth are next in action against Chelsea on the road next Saturday in the Premier League, while Liverpool face Salzburg during the week in the Champions League.
