Parrott tries to make space for the shot himself, but inside opts to pass to Maguire who was in a better position and he curls the ball into the top right-hand corner of the net. Marinovic had no chance of saving that.
Parrott has continued to cause the New Zealand defence problems and he draws a couple of defenders to him there, allowing Maguire to get into plenty of space and fire the shot towards goal.

GOOOAAALLL! Ireland equalise just before the break! Williams makes it 1-1. Brady whips a corner into the penalty area and Williams rises highest in the box, powering his header into the back of the net. Poor defending by the All Whites and Marinovic hardly moved on the line as the ball came through a few bodies.
Brady's delivery from set pieces has been very good so far tonight and he showed that again with this delivery, perfectly placed for Williams to pounce on.
44'
New Zealand are camped inside their own half at the moment, getting everyone back behind the ball, with Wood having to do a lot of lone chasing up front.

35'
Blocked! Two Ireland efforts are blocked within seconds of eachother, as Brady whips a lovely ball into the penalty area, met by Williams, whose shot is blocked, it then falls to Parrott on the edge of the box, but his effort is also dealt with by the All Whites defence.
34'
The pace of the game is quite slow, with neither team controlling possession and keeping the ball for a sustained period. Despite all of their good work in the opening period, Ireland find themselves a goal down.

GOOOAAALLL! New Zealand take the lead, it's 1-0! Completely against the run of play, but McCowatt gives the All Whites the lead after a quick break forward. Cacace gets in-behind Brady down the left and he drills a lovely low cross into the box for McCowatt to run onto, who slides it into the bottom right-hand corner of the net. A goal on his debut.

Parrott has put himself about a lot so far, the young striker certainly doesn't look fazed by his big occasion for Ireland.

9'
Wood will surely cause the Ireland defence a few problems throughout the game, he has scored four Premier League goals for Burnley so far this season and has just signed a new long-term contract at the Clarets.
7'
It's Ireland who are doing much of the attacking play at the moment, with New Zealand struggling to get on the ball and break out of their own half. Bryne and Brady both look lively for the hosts.
5'
Offside! Excellent run in behind by Parrott, he gets in between the two New Zealand centre-backs and races through on goal after a quick through ball by Byrne. However, he makes his run slightly too early and is caught offside.
3'
It's cold and bitter in Dublin, with a lot of empty seats around the Aviva Stadium as many people opt to remain at home. Ireland are keeping the ball well so far, but it's all in the midfield and haven't entered the final third yet.
