We are underway in Belgium!
Good evening and welcome to tonight's live coverage of the Champions League contest between Club Brugge and Paris Saint-Germain in Group A.
PSG will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table after winning their first two matches in Europe. Both Galatasary and Real Madrid have been beaten so far, while Club Brugge have drawn their opening two games.
A win for PSG tonight could pretty much guarantee their place in the next round, as long as other results go their way. A good game could be on the cards as well, with the home side winning five of their last six, while PSG have won four in a row under coach Thomas Tuchel.
CLUB BRUGGE (3-5-2): Simon Mignolet; Clinton Mata, Brandon Mechele, Simon Deli; Charles de Ketelaera, Mats Rits, Hans Vanaken (c), Krepin Diatta, Eduard Sobol; Percy Tau, Emmanuel Dennis.
SUBS: Eder Balanta, David Okereke, Ethan Horvath, Odilon Kossounou, Amadou Sagna, Dion Cools, Lois Openda.
SUBS: Kylian Mbappe, Leandro Paredes, Sergio Rico, Colin Dagba, Abdou Diallo, Pablo Sarabia, Edinson Cavani.
PSG (4-3-3): Keylor Navas; Thomas Meunier, Thiago Silva, Presnel Kimpembe, Juan Bernat; Ander Herrera, Marquinhos, Marco Verratti; Angel Di Maria, Mauro Icardi, Erix Maxim Choupo-Moting.
The two teams are out on the field, and the Champions League anthem echoes around the stadium. It is nearly time!
Icardi's volley in the seventh minute is the difference between the two sides as they enter the tunnel for half-time. The on-loan Inter striker has barely had a touch, but when he did, he did the business as usual. Di Maria should have made it two, but he wasted a glorious opportunity, and that means that Club Brugge still have a chance of rescuing a draw.
However, the home side must do more with the ball at their feet if they are to stand a chance. Their forwards have been sloppy, but the midfield are not doing enough to create clear-cut chances.
Club Brugge plugged away for nearly an hour, and the closest they came was Diatta's disallowed strike, but he clearly handled possession before scoring. They still have a chance of progressing after drawing their first two games, but they will now be worried after Real Madrid beat Galatasaray in the other match in Group A.
PSG have now shown they could be contenders so far this season. They have let their fans down in Europe for the last decade, but they have a superb squad and could go close if they keep up their current form.
That is all for tonight folks, thanks for joining us. Goodbye!
