R. Lewandowski has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by S. Gnabry.
Gnabry could have gone for goal himself but he decided to tee up Lewandowski for his 201st Bundesliga goal. As unselfish as you like!
GOOOOAAALLL!!! BAYERN 5-0 DORTMUND! The champions have a fifth goal as Gnabry gets in behind and squares the ball for Lewandowski to tap into an empty net from three yards. This is now a proper rout.
87'
Ribery is left one-on-one with his man towards the left but he cannot work the shooting opportunity. The tempo of the match has increased in the second half of the second half, but it does not look as though Bayern are going to score the fifth goal they are after.
85'
BLOCKED! A flowing Bayern move culminates in Gnabry's cutback being met by Lewandowski, but Weigl gets in the way of the shot. Dortmund only half-clear the ball and Sule blasts it high over the bar from 20 yards.
83'
Weigl goes in hard on Ribery to concede another free-kick. Dortmund's players are clearly incredibly frustrated, but they cannot afford to lose their heads.
82'
Lewandowski is being riled by his former club. Despite his side cruising towards a victory that will take them back to the Bundesliga summit, he is reacting angrily to some challenges. Could Dortmund be trying to get him sent off, I wonder?
80'
Renato Sanches enters the game and replaces T. Müller.
Sanches will be given a 10-minute cameo at the end of the match. Muller is the player to make way.
79'
CHANCE! The first chance of the second half falls to Lewandowski. The cross from the right has a bit too much pace on it and bounces in front of him, though, giving him too much to do as the shot sails high and wide. Reus is then told to calm down after barging into Lewandowski.
77'
L. Goretzka enters the game and replaces Javi Martínez.
Martinez has controlled the match from his holding midfield position. He is given a rest for the remaining 13 minutes, replaced by Goretzka.
76'
Bayern's fourth goalscorer Gnabry does not have much to aim for and he cannot test Burki, who has had a much quieter second half. There will be another stoppage in play now as Bayern are preparing a change...
Minute
Description
74'
The possession count has been split nearly 50-50 down the middle in the second half, which I think neatly sums things up. There has been very little between the sides over the last half an hour, with both seemingly happy for the full-time whistle.
72'
Those stoppages - for the subs and yellow cards - have not helped with the flow of the match. Bayern will not be all that concerned that this second half has been bereft of any attacking opportunities, of course, as they did the hard work in the first half with their four goals.
70'
R. Lewandowski gets yellow.
T. Delaney gets yellow.
Delaney is also cautioned for pulling back on Lewandowski just inside the Bayern half.
Lewandowski is pulled back by Delaney and he is not happy about it. The striker shoves his opponent and is shown a yellow card.
69'
M. Wolf enters the game and replaces Ł. Piszczek.
Piszczek's return to the side has not gone to plan, it is fair to say. The right-back is replaced by Wolf with around 20 minutes to go.
68'
F. Ribéry enters the game and replaces K. Coman.
Here comes that first Bayern change, as Ribery is brought on in place of Coman out wide.
67'
Lewandowski carries the ball down the left and he has a man over. Incredibly, Bayern's most advanced player is centre-back Hummels - he has been an attacking threat throughout against his former side. Lewandowski's pass has too much on it and Burki collects.
66'
Both teams are going through the motions, neither looking like finding the back of the net. It is a surprise that Kovac has yet to bring on one of James, Ribery or Sanches - they would each fancy their chances of scoring a goal in the remaining half an hour.
64'
How different would this game have panned out had Dahoud tucked away his early chance, rather than picking out the base of the post? If Favre is after a positive from this game, his side have competed well in the second half, albeit trailing by four goals from the first half.
62'
M. Götze enters the game and replaces Mahmoud Dahoud.
Gotze is on for Dahoud as Dortmund make their second change of the game. Kovac is going to hold off from making his first sub, it seems.
61'
Dahoud threads the ball through Bayern's backline but Reus is a good few yards offside. It looks as though Kovac is about to make his first change of the contest to freshen up his side a little.
60'
We are still awaiting the first on-target attempt of the second half, with 15 minutes played. Gnabry's miscued shot from Thiago's corner is the closest either side has come to scoring since the restart. Unfortunately, this one looks as though it will peter out.
58'
Favre would take full-time now if you offered it to him. BVB have not looked like scoring since Dahoud's big chance early on. Instead, it is a case of how many will Bayern rack up before full-time.
56'
Bayern have had 62 per cent of the ball in the opening 56 minutes of the match. Coman and Alaba link up, with the latter getting in behind and sending the ball right through the six-yard box. All it needed was a touch, but nobody in red could get on the end of it.
54'
WIDE! Bayern win another couple of corners, but these latest set-pieces do not lead to a goal as Gnabry skews wide from the second Thiago delivery. There has been little action since the restart, mainly because the game was killed off before half-time.
50'
Bayern are not all that interested in scoring another goal. Dortmund are being given opportunities to knock the ball around, but it is fair to say they have been rattled by their first-half showing. Piszczek goes in on Coman out wide to concede a free-kick.
48'
As things stand, Bayern will move a point clear of their title rivals. Kovac's side also have a far better goal difference - will that play a part? On the basis of the 47 minutes here, there will be no catching the hosts in the remainder of the campaign.
46'
J. Weigl enters the game and replaces D. Zagadou.
This half-time change from Favre is not at all surprising as Zagadou is taken off. Weigl is brought on in his place, but will there be a change of system?
RESTART! Dortmund, trailing by four goals following a one-sided first half, get us back underway at the Allianz Arena!
45' +2
HALF-TIME: BAYERN 4-0 DORTMUND
45' +1
Coman runs out of space down the left and is unable to get on the end of an overhit pass. Dortmund are desperate for the half-time whistle.
45'
Bayern really are in cruise control, barely having to break a sweat to rack up this four-goal lead. Thiago goes in pretty hard on Witsel and is given a telling off by the referee Manuel Grafe.
43'
S. Gnabry has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by T. Müller.
Muller drags the ball onto his left boot and picks out Gnabry in the box with his inch-perfect cross. Dortmund were perhaps hoping for an offside flag but their defending was so bad that Gnabry was being kept on.
GOOOOAAALLL!!! BAYERN 4-0 DORTMUND! This is incredible!! Bayern are sending out a message today, that is for sure! The hosts have themselves a fourth goal and we have played just 43 minutes. Muller's cross is met by the head of an onside Gnabry, who has time and space to guide it out of Burki's reach. Dortmund's players are looking at one another, wondering who was supposed to be picking up who.
41'
Javi Martínez has scored a goal for Bayern Munich!
GOOOOAAALLL!!! BAYERN 3-0 DORTMUND! Bayern seal the three points before half-time through a well-taken strike from Martinez. Muller peels off his man to volley Thiago's free-kick on target. Burki, Dortmund's best player, keeps out the shot but it is worked to Martinez on the edge of the box, and he picks his spot through a sea of bodies.
40'
D. Zagadou gets yellow.
Zagadou, who has had a poor first half, brings down Lewandowski to concede a free-kick and earn himself a yellow card.
38'
Sancho has swapped flanks with Larsen to have at Kimmich. Favre is trying something different, with his side having been second best throughout this first half. Bayern are looking very comfortable, barely having to get out of second gear.
37'
Delaney tries to get on the end of Piszczek's cross but Kimmich gets in the way to concede a corner, which Bayern defend. The problem for BVB is they are at risk of being caught on the counter when they do manage to get the ball forward.
35'
Sule is unable to find the target from his shot as Dortmund see out the danger. Kovac would like a third goal before the break to make certain of the points. The visitors will surely only improve in the second half.
31'
It seems like a long time ago now, but Dahoud missed a brilliant chance to open the scoring for his side before Bayern's quickfire double. The hosts have been in control of the game ever since, though they are not as lively in the final third as they were in the opening 20 minutes or so.
29'
Dortmund are definitely looking a lot more settled now. They swarm forward in numbers but Sancho's delivery lets him down at the end of the attack, sending the ball straight to Neuer when he had a couple of players to aim for.
25'
BETTER FROM DORTMUND! Piszczek takes on the shot from range, forcing Neuer into a routine save. The returning right-back had other options, though Dortmund have at least given the opposition keeper something to think about with a little over a quarter of the game played.
23'
Zagadou is yet again at fault. The youngster is looking incredibly nervous, struggling to stand his ground whenever Bayern's attacking players get on the ball. Lucien Favre will be pleased if his side go into half-time just two goals down.
17'
R. Lewandowski has scored a goal for Bayern Munich!
GOOOOAAALLL!!! BAYERN 2-0 DORTMUND! Zagadou has been guilty of a couple of errors already today, and he is punished for his latest mistake. The young centre-back passes the ball straight to Lewandowski, who lifts the ball over Burki 25 yards from goal and slots the ball into an unguarded net. That is 200 Bundesliga goals for the striker. Should Burki have stayed on his line?
16'
Dortmund could do with getting hold of the ball and stringing some passes together. This is a massive game for them - not quite a title decider but the closest thing to one. Bayern are looking good value for a second at this rate.
14'
Bayern are using the high press to good effect. It is one-way traffic at the moment as Delaney scrambles the ball behind following some good play from Coman, getting to the byline before cutting it back towards the penalty spot.
12'
Dahoud fouls Coman to concede a free-kick in a dangerous area. Burki flaps at Thiago's delivery and, when the shot does finally arrive, Coman snatches at the ball to send it wide. Dortmund have struggled to settle here - their younger players are looking nervous.
10'
M. Hummels has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by Thiago Alcântara.
Thiago's corner was swung into the six-yard box - an area where Burki should perhaps be commanding. Hummels did not have to do a great deal to meet the delivery, powering his header into the back of the net.
GOOOOAAALLL!!!! BAYERN 1-0 DORTMUND! BVB do not learn their lesson as their former player Hummels, who glanced wide from a corner a minute or so into the match, strolls into the six-yard box, outjumps everyone else and sends his header past Burki down the middle.
9'
It has been a pretty explosive start to the match in Bavaria - did you expect anything less? Bayern have been the better side, but Dortmund have come closest to opening the scoring. The hosts have won a corner, which Thiago will deliver.
5'
Dortmund have not really settled so far. Zagadou tries to play the ball out from the back but is caught out - thankfully for him Burki gathers the ball when it arrives in the box.
4'
PENALTY SHOUT! Talk about a fast start! Bayern are certainly fired up for this one and Lewandowski feels he should be awarded a penalty. A poor touch from the striker allows Diallo to get across him in the box, but there is not enough contact to warrant a pen.
2'
NEARLY! The home side win an early corner and former Dortmund defender Hummels gets on the end of it. The ball flies wide of the target, with Sancho unable to convert at the back post.
1'
KICK-OFF! Bayern get us up and running in this titanic tussle at the top of the Bundesliga. The onus is on the hosts today as they could really do with a victory to reclaim top spot.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Bundesliga clash between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern were the strong favourites to go all the way and win a seventh successive Bundesliga crown this season, but it has not quite worked out that way. The reigning champions have improved in the second half of the campaign, though, by winning 13 of their last 15 matches to pile the pressure on their title rivals. If not for a potentially costly 1-1 draw with Freiburg in their most recent league outing, in fact, Niko Kovac's men would have headed into this game in top spot thanks to their slightly superior goal difference.
BAYERN (4-2-3-1): Manuel Neuer (c); Joshua Kimmich, Niklas Sule, Mats Hummels, David Alaba; Javi Martinez, Thiago Alcantara; Serge Gnabry, Thomas Muller, Kingsley Coman; Robert Lewandowski.
Bayern subs: Renato Sanches, James Rodriguez, Leon Goretzka, Franck Ribery, Jerome Boateng, Rafinha, Sven Ulreich.
DORTMUND (4-3-3): Roman Burki; Lukasz Piszczek, Manuel Akanji, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Abdou Diallo; Mahmoud Dahoud, Axel Witsel, Thomas Delaney; Jadon Sancho, Marco Reus (c), Jacob Bruun Larsen.
Dortmund subs: Julian Weigl, Marwin Hitz, Mario Gotze, Marius Wolf, Maximilian Philipp, Marcel Schmelzer, Omer Toprak.
After weeks of battling it out at the top of the table, Germany's top two sides face off in Bavaria and the prize for the winners could not be bigger in the context of the title race. League leaders Dortmund head into the match two points better off than Bayern after getting their campaign back on track with three successive wins - as many as they had managed in their previous seven. Extend that winning run to a fourth game today and the title really will be theirs to lose.
The two teams are now out on the field at the Allianz Arena and we are moments away from kick-off.
Favre will surely make a change or two at the interval. He can start by taking off young defender Zagadou, who has had a shocker in the first half - namely his sloppy pass that let Lewandowski in for the second goal. Opposite number Kovac, meanwhile, will simply be after more of the same in the second 45.
The champions are now a point better off than Dortmund and have a vastly superior goal difference thanks to this resounding win. Next up for Bayern is a trip to Fortuna Dusseldorf eight days from now, while BVB are back in action in a week's time with a home match against Mainz 05.
Thanks for joining our coverage today. Until next time, goodbye!
