This match is now underway!
Hello and welcome to our live text commentary of this Bundesliga match between Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich at BayArena.
Last week Bayern showed that their recent revival is likely to continue in 2019 as they professionally dispatched Stuttgart 4-1 and hauled league leaders Borussia Dortmund's lead back to six points. With Dortmund playing away to Frankfurt today, Bayern will be looking to keep pressure on the team at the top.

Leverkusen step out in their trademark black-and-red home strip while Bayern look fresh in their mint-green away kit.
Today Bayern make the trip to Leverkusen who are in a decent vein of form themselves. Peter Bosz's side have won five of their last seven games and sit ninth in the league, but their recent run against Bayern is poor. Can their home advantage give them the boost they need?
That decision means that Bayern only have a promising half-time lead rather than a commanding one. Leverkusen have looked lively without really threatening Bayern's goal, and the away side held them at arm's length before scoring through Goretzka's smart header. Bayern have looked fairly comfortable, but Leverkusen still have hope if they're only a goal behind.
That result leaves Bayern seven points behind Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga as Dortmund drew 1-1 away to Frankfurt. Leverkusen rise to seventh, only two points behind Frankfurt in fifth.
Bayern's title defence takes another knock at just the wrong time then. They've recovered well in recent months but may have given themselves too much to do. The title looks Dortmund's to lose - then again, there are still 14 games to go. That's all for now. Goodbye!
