West Ham can rise into seventh place if they are able to defeat the Cherries this afternoon and results go in their favour. The Hammers endured a slow start to the season, but have gradually found their form under Manuel Pellegrini. They put forward a fine performance to see off Arsenal last week thanks to a goal from Declan Rice and will be looking for a similar display today.
Bournemouth are in need of a positive result this afternoon to regain their footing in the Premier League. They enjoyed a strong start to the campaign, but since the start of November they have won only two out of a possible 12 games. Eddie Howe's men have lost three matches on the bounce, including their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Everton last week. The home side need a response against the Hammers.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Bournemouth and West Ham at the Vitality Stadium.
BOURNEMOUTH (4-4-2): Artur Boruc; Nathaniel Clyne, Steve Cook, Nathan Ake, Adam Smith; David Brooks, Dan Gosling, Jefferson Lerma, Ryan Fraser; Joshua King, Callum Wilson.
SUBS: Andrew Surman, Lys Mousset, Charlie Daniels, Junior Stanislas, Diego Rico, Jack Simpson, Asmir Begovic.
WEST HAM (4-2-3-1): Lukasz Fabianski; Pablo Zabaleta, Issa Diop, Angelo Ogbonna, Aaron Cresswell; Mark Noble, Declan Rice; Michail Antonio, Samir Nasri, Felipe Anderson; Andy Carroll.
SUBS: Robert Snodgrass, Adrian, Pedro Obiang, Javier Hernandez, Arthur Masuaku, Xande Silva, Grady Diangana.
It's all square at the break at the Vitality Stadium between Bournemouth and West Ham. It has been an even contest, with both sides having at least one good opportunity in front of goal. The Cherries had a goal disallowed for offside, while at the other end Samir Nasri fired just wide of the post. The majority of the game has been played in the middle of the pitch, while both teams have struggled with the final ball into the box. An improvement will be needed to break the deadlock this afternoon.
Manuel Pellegrini will be the happier of the two managers given that his side looked fairly comfortable for final 20 minutes of the half. Bournemouth did make a bright start to the contest, but struggled for control as the half progressed, leaving Eddie Howe with decisions to make at the break.
Bournemouth face Chelsea next time out in the Premier League at the Vitality Stadium, while West Ham take on AFC Wimbledon on the road in the FA Cup.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
