We're underway in Paris.
Good afternoon welcome to the live commentary of the Ligue 1 clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
Strasbourg are not safe from the drop in 13th place, being just six points clear of the bottom three. Thierry Laurey's side claimed a 2-1 win over Troyes last time out and will be looking to emulate that success on the road to achieve an unlikely double over the league leaders.
PSG subs: Marquinhos, Thiago Motta, Thomas Meunier, Christopher Nkunku, Adrien Rabiot, Javier Pastore, Sebastien Cibois.
Strasbourg subs: Vincent Nogueira, Jeremy Grimm, Idriss Saidi, Jeremy Blayac, Anthony Goncalves, Yoann Salmier, Bingourou Kamara.
PSG have made five changes to the side that was beaten during the week by Madrid. Thiago Silva and Kurzawa are restored into the back four, while Draxler and Diarra come into the midfield. Kylian Mbappe is suspended and is replaced by Di Maria in the three-man attack. Motta returns from injury on the bench.
Kone, Seka, Bahoken all come into the fold for Strasbourg this afternoon in three changes from their win over Troyes last time out. Despite scoring the decisive second goal in the victory Blayac remains on the bench.
STRASBOURG (4-2-3-1): Alexandre Oukidja; Dimitri Foulquier, Pablo Martinez, Bakary Kone, Ernest Soka; Kenny Lala, Jean Eudes Aholou; Joia Nuno Da Costa, Jonas Martin; Dimitri Lienard; Stephane Bahoken.
STAT! Paris are unbeaten in their 26 home games against Strasbourg in Ligue 1 (W20 D6). Only Bastia have visited the Parc des Princes more often without picking a win in the top-flight (D7 L22).
STAT! PSG have won their last 12 games at home in Ligue 1 and could win 13 in a row for the very first time.
STAT! Nuno Da Costa has been directly involved in Strasbourg’s last two goals against Paris in Ligue 1 (one goal, one assist). However, he has failed to be involved in a goal in his last nine games in the top-flight.
PSG will be desperate to respond from their defeat at the hands of Real Madrid during the week. Unai Emery's men allowed the game to slip away from them in the closing stages, conceding twice in the final two minutes. The club have been imperious in the league, although one of their two defeats this term did come at the hands of this afternoon's opponents on the road.
HALF-TIME: PSG 3-1 STRASBOURG
PSG take a 3-1 lead into the break over Strasbourg, although the home side were forced to come from behind. Jean Eudes Aholou put the visitors ahead in the sixth minute with a well-taken goal. However, they were ahead for only four minutes as Julian Draxler found the net with a low drive. Neymar put PSG ahead with a neat finish before a mistake by Pablo Martinez allowed Angel Di Maria to notch a third. Unai Emery's men have not been at their best, but are still potent in the final third. They will want to see this one out with as little drama as possible.
FULL-TIME: PSG 5-2 STRASBOURG
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
PSG romp home to a comfortable victory over Strasbourg thanks to a late brace from Edinson Cavani. The visitors did show fight by taking the lead through Jean Eudes Aholou, but strikes from Julian Draxler, Neymar and Angel Di Maria put Unai Emery's side in command. Stephane Bahoken tightened the contest in the second half with a fine effort, but the Uruguayan secured the three points for PSG - breaking Zlatan Ibrahmovic's record for goals at the Parc des Princes hitting home his 86th strike at the stadium.
