What a chance to make it 5-0! Di Maria sprints into the right-hand side of the Montpellier penalty area before fizzing a lovely pass across the face of goal. Cavani sticks out a foot and meets it on the edge of the six-yard box, but he can't make decent contact with the ball and pokes it comfortably wide of the goal. PSG patiently knock the ball around as they toy with their opponents. Montpellier are eventually able to win back possession before kick-starting a counter-attack, but a misplaced pass rolls harmlessly down the right flank and behind for a goal-kick before it can pick out a white shirt.

Neymar has scored a goal for PSG! Assist by E. Cavani.
GOAL! It's another for Neymar! Di Maria impresses once again as he bursts down the right wing and into a pocket of space. He then produces a lovely ball that picks out Cavani, whose cross-cum-shot from inside the penalty area is easily turned into the back of the net by Neymar from a few yards out.
It's been a great day for Cavani, who not only became PSG's all-time top goalscorer but has always impressed with the ball at his feet. The Parisiens would have been expecting a tough game but have comfortably torn Montpellier apart.
81'
Space is continuing to open up for the home side, allowing them to hit Montpellier on plenty of counter-attacks whenever they win the ball back. The visitors aren't shutting up shop just yet, despite the fact that the game is as good as over with 10 minutes remaining.
79'
Camara has been presented with a few decent chances to test Areola since coming on but he hasn't quite been able to force the PSG goalkeeper into making a good save. This time he shoots from 20 yards out, but his thumping effort is far too powerful and fails to hit the target.
77'
K. Dolly enters the game and replaces N. Mukiele.
C. Nkunku enters the game and replaces A. Rabiot.
PSG have made a change, with Christopher Nkunku coming on to replace Rabiot.

Neymar has the ball in the back of the net, but it won't count! It looks as if the Brazilian has made it 4-0 to the home side after more good play by Meunier, but the referee quickly rules it off after claiming that Neymar had controlled the ball with his arm before firing it under Lecomte. The former Barcelona man doesn't agree but the man in charge isn't at all interested.
72'
Montpellier may be three goals down but they're refusing to give up. They haven't had much joy when pushing forward but they're continuing to try and find a way back into the game, despite the fact that PSG are in such a commanding position.
70'
Á. Di María has scored a goal for PSG! Assist by T. Meunier.
GOAL! Wonderful play by PSG! Pastore sends a beautiful, outside of the boot pass deep down the right flank and into the path of Meunier, who is all alone. The Belgian heads towards the byline and cuts a wonderful pass back to Di Maria, who storms into the box and easily beats Lecomte with his first-time finish.
That really was great play by Meunier, who easily managed to skip away from two Montpellier players as he made his way down the right flank. That's been a constant feature of PSG's play all afternoon long.
69'
Cozza twists and tuens over on the left-hand side of the home side's penalty area before getting a cross away, and it's one that Areola isn't able to stop from flying behind for a corner. The set-piece is a looping one, but it's fired straight into the hands of Areola in the middle of the goal.
67'
J. Pastore enters the game and replaces J. Draxler.
Draxler has made way for Javier Pastore in PSG's second alteration of the night.

S. Camara enters the game and replaces G. Sio.
C. Ninga enters the game and replaces I. Mbenza.
Montpellier have made a double substitution as they try to find a way back into the game. The first player to come on is Casimir Ninga, who replaces Mbenza.
And the second is Souleymane Camara, with Giovanni Sio making way.
63'
Mukiele is trying his hardest to carve out pockets of space for himself deep down the right wing, but PSG have defended well all afternoon and are denying him to find much joy when pushing forward. He thinks he's won his side a free-kick after going down under a tackle from Kurzawa, but the referee doesn't agree and a throw-in goes the hosts' way.
61'
Cozza clumsily loses the ball out wide and gifts Di Maria with a really good opportunity to counter-attack. The Argentine does well to reach the edge of the visitors' penalty area, but Daniel Congre is there to dispossess him with a vital tackle.
59'
After plenty of pushing and shoving, Sambia sends the set-piece short and sets up Lasne to shoot from 30 yards out. His strike is hit well enough, but there are plenty of bodies camped in front of him and it fails to test Areola.
58'
It's Sambia who steps up and shoots, but his thumping effort fails to clear the wall of PSG players and deflects behind for a corner that is quickly knocked out for another Montpellier corner.
57'
Lasne picks up the ball just outside the PSG penalty area over on the right wing and is quickly fouled by Kurzawa, resulting in a free-kick for the visitors in a very promising position. Will they be able to make it count this time?
55'
E. Skhiri gets yellow.
Space opens up for Neymar over on the left flank and allows the Brazilian to quickly dart forward. It looks as if he's dispossessed by a great tackle from Skhiri, but the Montpellier midfielder ends up receiving a yellow card, much to his annoyance.
54'
Once again, Montpellier do well to win themselves a corner only to fail to make it count. This time the set-piece is sent short to Mbenza, who shoots from the edge of the PSG box but has his low strike easily closed down and blocked by Di Maria.
52'
Vital interception by Lo Celso! Draxler is guilty of trying to do much too much with the ball and loses it in a dangerous position, allowing Montpellier to immediately counter-attack. They're unable to do much it, though, as Lo Celso pulls off a great tackle to save his side.
50'
After spending the first few minutes of the second half on the back foot, Montpellier are eventually able to push forward on win themselves a corner. Not for the first time they're unable to make it count, as the danger is easily cleared by the first man.

46'
Marquinhos enters the game and replaces Thiago Silva.
PSG have made one substitution during the half-time break, with Silva making way for Marquinhos.
We're underway once again!
45'
PSG try to push forward on one final attacking move before the half-time break, but the referee decides not to add on any injury time and brings an end to the first period as soon as the 45 minutes are up. The Parisiens are cruising to a 19th win of the season.
44'
Neymar goes close! Di Maria sprints towards the visitors' box on a wonderful run before poking a clever pass out to Meunier. The Belgian's low cross is met by Skhiri but deflects out to Neymar, who quickly spins and shoots but can't quite beat Lecomte in the middle of the goal.
42'
Montpellier quickly push forward from the restart and do well to win themselves a corner over on the left flank, but the delivery into the penalty area is a poor one and Cavani is easily able to head the ball away from danger at the near post.
40'
Penalty goal scored by Neymar for PSG!
GOAL! There are no boos this time as Neymar calmly slots a lovely strike into the bottom left-hand corner of the net to double PSG's lead. That's his 16th goal in 16 Ligue 1 games.
39'
Pedro Mendes gets yellow.
PENALTY! More great play by Di Maria over on the right flank results in another cross picking out Draxler, who quickly unleashes a thumping shot that smashes into the hand of the diving Mendes. It leaves the referee with no choice but to point to the spot.
37'
Beautiful play by Di Maria! An overhit pass from Rabiot looks as if it's going to result in a goal-kick for Montpellier, but Di Maria does wonderfully well to keep it in play before skipping past Cozza with a wonderful piece of skill. He then chips a cross right onto the head of Draxler, but the German's header is off target and fails to hit the target.
35'
Cozza, who hasn't been able to push forward much so far, does well to break into the PSG half of the pitch as Montpellier continue to enjoy a decent spell of possession. He sprints deep down the left flank and takes on Meunier, but it's the Belgian who comes out on top and wins his side a goal-kick.
33'
PSG are unable to fully clear the danger from their own half of the pitch, allowing Montpellier to push forward once again. Ellyes Skhiri manages to get a shot away that's deflected behind for a corner, and Paul Lasne is then able to unleash a strike of his own from 25 yards out that sails comfortably wide of the goal.
31'
It's been a tough opening half an hour for Montpellier's front men, who are trying their hardest to get into the game but are struggling to see much of the ball. Isaac Mbenza is eventually able to burst forward and try to get a shot away, but he's dealt with well by Presnel Kimpembe, who shepherds the ball into the hands of Areola.
29'
Neymar does really well to penetrate the Montpellier box and looks set to get a shot away but Mukiele, who has started the game really well at right-wing-back, rushes back and manages to dispossess the Brazilian with a well-timed tackle.
27'
Di Maria has been finding plenty of space out wide, and he's causing problems for Nicolas Cozza every time he's on the ball. Once again he's able to skip by the wing-back before chipping a cross into the penalty area, but this time it's sent slightly too near to Lecomte and is well held.
25'
Space opens up for Sambia in the middle of the pitch, allowing the midfielder to dart towards the PSG box on a marauding run. He does well to reach the penalty area before shooting, but his low effort lacks the power and precision needed to beat Areola and is comfortably collected.
23'
Neymar is dispossessed on the halfway line and Montpellier quickly counter-attack. They're unable to make a rare chance count, however, as Kurzawa sticks out a leg and denies Mukiele the opportunity to latch onto Sambia's pass out wide.
21'
Cavani goes close to making it 2-0! Once again, PSG carve out a pocket of space for themselves deep down the right wing, and this time it's Thomas Meunier who sends a lovely pass across the face of goal. It looks certain to result in a second goal for the striker, but Pedro Mendes is just about able to poke the ball away from Uruguayan as he's about to pull the trigger.
19'
Giovani Lo Celso and Cavani link up really nicely on the edge of the Montpellier penalty area before the latter pokes a clever pass into the path of Di Maria. The Argentine rushes onto it and chips a cross towards the far post, but it's overhit and lands on the roof of the net.

15'
Angel Di Maria quickly cuts inside from the right wing and is immediately clattered into, resulting in a free-kick for PSG in a very dangerous position. It's the Argentine who fires a low cross-cum-shot towards the near post, but it's easily dealt with by the visitors.
13'
And now Draxler goes close! More great play by Neymar sets up Draxler to sprint into the penalty area and take on Lecomte, but this time it's the goalkeeper who comes out on top after rushing out to deal with the German.
12'
E. Cavani gets yellow.
Cavani immediately ran to the crowd and threw his shirt to them as he celebrated his goal, and he's eventually shown a yellow card after receiving a spare from the bench.
11'
E. Cavani has scored a goal for PSG! Assist by A. Rabiot.
Rabiot did really well to cut a clever pass back to Cavani, but Neymar deserves plenty of praise for his role in the build-up. He took two Montpellier players right out of the game with a lovely ball that perfectly set up Rabiot near to the byline.
GOAL! Edinson Cavani has broken the record! A lovely cross-field pass from Thiago Silva sails over the Montpellier back line and towards Neymar. The Brazilian brings the ball down beautiful before knocking it over to Adrien Rabiot, who sets up Cavani to fire in from close range to become PSG's all-time leading goalscorer.
9'
An attempted PSG attacking move fails to come to anything and Montpellier quickly counter-attack. Mukiele manages to get himself into a good position out wide and takes on Layvin Kurzawa, but it's the latter who comes out on top, despite it looking as if the Montpellier wing-back may have been fouled in the process.
7'
Two fouls in quick succession from Neymar result in free-kicks in good positions for Montpellier. Salomon Sambia steps up and shoots from the second set-piece, but his bouncing effort is underhit and fails to trouble Alphonse Areola.
5'
Welcome back, Neymar! The Brazilian is brought into the game for the first time this afternoon after receiving the ball over on the left wing, but he's immediately clattered into by Nordi Mukiele, who receives a talking to from the referee for his hefty challenge.
3'
What a chance for Julian Draxler to open the scoring! The German bursts into the Montpellier penalty area after easily managing to skip past Hilton on the edge. He then lifts a clever chip over Benjamin Lecomte, but it's slightly mishit and can only find the side-netting.
1'
We're off! Montpellier get us underway, attacking from left to right.
Good afternoon and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s Ligue 1 game between Paris Saint-Germain and Montpellier at the Parc des Princes.
PSG’s lead at the top of the domestic table remains a commanding one, but they head into today’s clash desperate for a win after suffering a rare defeat against Lyon in their last league outing. It was the second time in seven Ligue 1 games the Parisiens had been beaten, compared to just once in their 37 previous outings. They’re still eight points clear of their nearest challengers, but another loss today would certainly open the title race right up.
The league leaders would have been full of confidence heading into last weekend’s game at the Groupama Stadium, as their previous outing had seen them mercilessly thrash Dijon 8-0 thanks to four goals from Neymar. The Brazilian has struggled with injuries this year but is available for selection once again today, giving his side a huge boost heading into a must-win encounter.
This afternoon’s clash could end up being a tough one for the six-time Ligue 1 champions, as they’re in action against a side that have lost just once since October. Montpellier have proved themselves to be tough nuts to crack in recent weeks, with Lyon, Marseille and Monaco all being held to draws by the southern side, who currently boast the league’s best defensive record.
Montpellier’s stubbornness was certainly on show when the two sides last met back in September. A frustrated PSG side dropped points for the first time this season at the Stade de la Mosson, and today's visitors remain the only team to have managed to stop Unai Emery’s men from scoring in almost a year. The Parisiens have only scored two goals in their last four meetings against Montpellier - their worst goalscoring run against any current Ligue 1 side.
There’s just under 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this this afternoon…
Paris Saint-Germain substitutes: Trapp, Yuri, Marquinhos, Nsoki, Pastore, Verratti, Nkunku.
Paris Saint-Germain XI (4-3-3): Areola; Meunier, Silva, Kimpembe, Kurzawa; Draxler, Lo Celso, Rabiot; Neymar, Cavani, Di Maria.
Unai Emery has decided to make four changes to the PSG side that started the defeat against Lyon last weekend, with Thomas Meunier, Presnel Kimpembe, Julian Draxler and Neymar coming into the starting line-up to replace Dani Alves, Marquinhos, Marco Verratti and the injured Kylian Mbappe, respectively.
Meanwhile, Montpellier boss Michel Der Zakarian has made three alterations to the team that featured in their last league outing, with Ruben Aguilar, Jerome Roussillon and on-loan PSG midfielder Jonathan Ikone making way for Nordi Mukiele, Nicolas Cozza and Isaac Mbenza.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN 2-0 MONTPELLIER
So far, so good for PSG, who have struggled to break down a stubborn Montpellier defence in recent years but are on course to return to winning ways today. Cavani became the club's all-time top scorer with his side's first goal before Neymar doubled their lead from the penalty spot, and you feel a dominant and determined PSG side have already wrapped up all three points.
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half.
FULL-TIME: PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN 4-0 MONTPELLIER
Montpellier started the day with Ligue 1's best defensive record but ended it on the receiving end of their heaviest defeat since last March. PSG were just too hot to handle, with Di Maria, Cavani and, in particular, Neymar all excellent every time they were in possession. After last weekend's defeat away to Lyon, a commanding and comfortable win is exactly what the Parisiens needed, and it keeps them comfortably out in front at the top of the table.
