We're underway in this LaLiga clash.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the LaLiga clash between Las Palmas and Barcelona at the Estadio de Gran Canaria.
Barcelona need to keep their winning run going this evening to ensure that they take the title race into the final round of matches. Luis Enrique's men are level on points with Real Madrid at the top of the table, but their rivals do have a game in hand.
The Catalan club responded well to their defeat at the hands of Malaga at the start of last month. They've reeled off five wins on the bounce, including a 7-1 hammering of Osasuna and a 4-1 victory over Villarreal last time out.
Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar have been in top form of late and they will need to maintain their levels of excellence to keep Barcelona in the hunt for the LaLiga crown.
Las Palmas are struggling of late, losing their last three matches on the spin. Their safe in mid-table, but manager Quique Setien will want to end the season and his time with the club on a high note.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
LAS PALMAS (4-1-4-1): Varas; Michel, Lemos, Bigas, Lopes; Montoro; Momo, Mesa, Viera, Jese; Boateng.
Las Palmas subs: Lizoain, Hernan, Artiles, Castellano, Garcia, Halilovic, David Garcia.
Las Palmas have made four changes from their defeat to Sporting Gijon last week. Michel, Helder Lopes, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Jese all come into the side this evening.
BARCELONA (4-3-3): Ter Stegen; Marlon, Digne, Umtiti, Alba; Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta; Messi, Suarez, Neymar.
Barcelona subs: Denis Suarez, Turan, Cillessen, Alcacer, Gomes, Alena, Mascherano.
Enrique has made two changes to his side that beat Villarreal last time out. Marlon and Jordi Alba come into the team to replace Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto, which could see Lucas Digne lining up at centre-back alongside Samuel Umtiti.
The players are making their way out on to the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
Barcelona were forced into the late change as Javier Mascherano suffered an injury during the warm-up, with Marlon coming into the team off the bench.
HALF-TIME: LAS PALMAS 0-2 BARCELONA
Barcelona take a 2-0 lead into the break thanks to goals from Neymar and Luis Suarez. However, Las Palmas will feel hard done by as Lucas Digne was very fortunate to remain on the pitch after bringing down Jese in the early stages of the game.
The home side played well, but were undone by two moments of quality from Luis Enrique's men. First Sergio Busquets, Andres Iniesta and Suarez combined in a fine team move to set up Neymar for the opening. The Brazilian returned the favour to his strike partner with a sumptuous throughball allowing the Uruguayan to score the second.
The players are back out on the pitch, so we should be underway again shortly.
FULL-TIME: LAS PALMAS 1-4 BARCELONA
Barcelona did what they had to this evening, keeping the pressure on Real Madrid at the top. Neymar was outstanding in the contest and notched a deserved hat-trick, with two neat finishes in the second half helping his side pull away from Las Palmas who show fight after the break.
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Luis Enrique's men remain level on points with Real following Zinedine Zidane's side's win over Sevilla. Real have a game in hand, meaning that the title race remains out of Barca's control. They will have to hope that their bitter rivals slip up in one of their two final matches to have any hope of securing the crown.
