Welcome to Allianz Stadium where the Socceroos host the UAE in a must win World Cup qualifying match. Australia are at home and know that a big performance is needed in front of their home fans and a win is vital. The Socceroos haven't been in the greatest form so far in this group with four straight draws. The UAE will be looking to cause an upset away from home and derail the Australians World Cup qualifying hopes. Kick off soon.
HALF TIME: AUSTRALIA 1 UAE 0. The Socceroos head to the sheds with a 1-0 lead from an early Jackson Irvine header. The Australians were on top early but the UAE found their way back into the game and had a few good opportunities in attack through their main man Abdulrahman but they were not able to trouble the scoreboard. Australia finished thr half strongly and will be confident of being able to find another goal in the 2nd half. Still another half to go and it's anyone's game.
FULL TIME: AUSTRALIA 2 UAE 0. It wasn't the slickest of performances from the Socceroos but they pick up a vital 3 points with a 2-0 win over the UAE. Both goals came from corners and set pieces is where the home side looked most likely to score. The UAE tried their hardest and at some points were close to scoring but they were outplayed by the Australians. The Socceroos now move up the ladder in their group as they continue their quest for World Cup qualification.
