THERE GOES THE FINAL WHISTLE AND FRANCE ARE THROUGH TO THE FINAL OF EURO 2016!!!
90' +3
FANTASTIC SAVE! The Germans push again and Mustafi's cross is met by the head of Kimmich, but Lloris shows brilliant reflexes to somehow turn it away to safety. The ball comes back into the box and is met by Gotze, but he can only head wide of the target.
90' +2
Y. Cabaye enters the game and replaces A. Griezmann.
France make their third and final substitution and Griezmann receives a magnificent reception as he makes way to be replaced by Yohan Cabaye.
90' +1
FOUR MINUTES! That is how long France have to hold on here. Germany need to somehow find two goals if they are to stay in the tournament.
90'
Germany are desperate but just cannot make anything happen as another cross goes astray and behind for a goal kick.
88'
We are into the final two minutes of normal time at Stade Velodrome. France are edging ever closer to having the opportunity to win a third major tournament on home soil...
86'
Griezmann has the chance to put the game to bed as he races away on the counter-attack. He cuts back onto his right foot, but the eventual shot is poor and easy for Neuer to gather.
84'
Remember, France had never beaten Germany in a major tournament prior to tonight. They are just six minutes away from doing so and booking their place in Sunday's Final...
82'
NOT FAR OFF! Howedes meets another German corner with his head, but sees the ball drift marginally over the crossbar.
80'
IT JUST WON'T HAPPEN! Sane is inches away from directing Kroos' free-kick home seconds after coming on, before Mustafi blazes wildly over from the resulting corner when he really needed to show composure. Time is running out for the Germans...
Minute
Description
79'
L. Sané enters the game and replaces B. Schweinsteiger.
The last throw of the dice from Low sees Schweinsteiger withdrawn to be replaced by youngster Leroy Sané.
78'
A. Gignac enters the game and replaces O. Giroud.
France make their second change of the night and Giroud receives a generous reception as he goes off to be replaced by Andre-Pierre Gignac.
76'
Draxler tries his luck with an ambitious effort, but he is not too far away as it sails narrowly wide of the post.
75'
N. Kanté gets yellow.
Kante concedes a free-kick 30 yards from the French goal and is booked for the third time in this tournament.
74'
OFF THE POST! Kimmich immediately tries to make amends for his error, as he unleashes a wonderful curling effort towards the far corner. His effort just clips the wrong side of the post, though, and the French escape. That was a brilliant attempt from the right-back!
72'
A. Griezmann has scored a goal for France!
GRIEZMANN DOUBLES THE LEAD!!!!! France are 2-0 up in the Semi-Final! A mistake from Kimmich inside his own penalty area is pounced upon by Pogba. Clever footwork leaves Mustafi for dead before he sits up a cross that can only be parried by Neuer, and Griezmann is first on the scene to prod home his sixth goal of the tournament.
71'
N. Kanté enters the game and replaces D. Payet.
A very defensive change from Deschamps as he brings on N'Golo Kante in place of Payet.
69'
Frustration for the Germans as they are penalised from an attacking corner after Muller pushed Koscielny in the box. The World Champions cannot afford any more silly errors like that in their pursuit of this equaliser.
67'
M. Götze enters the game and replaces E. Can.
Gotze is introduced into the action with a very attacking change from Low, as Can is the player to make way.
66'
There is activity on the German bench and Mario Gotze is getting stripped off ready to come on. He scored the winner in the World Cup Final two years ago and an equaliser here would be just as important.
64'
As we approach the final 25 minutes of the game, France are still a goal to the good in this Semi-Final. They need to continue to withstand the endless German pressure, though.
61'
S. Mustafi enters the game and replaces J. Boateng.
The Germans make a change with Shkodran Mustafi coming on in place of Boateng. That is a huge blow for Low, who was already without the suspended Hummels this evening.
59'
There are more worrying signs for Germany as Boateng goes down just inside his own half. Judging by his and the medical team's reaction, it appears he will be unable to continue here.
57'
The French are also on a lengthy run of good form, themselves, having lost just one of their last 15 matches ahead of this Semi-Final.
54'
Die Mannschaft have won 14 of their last 18 matches at major tournaments, but that record is currently at threat here. The French are defending brilliantly, but cannot afford to rest on their single-goal lead.
52'
The Germans are slowly building up the pressure. They are knocking the ball around nicely in anticipatio of unlocking the so-far stubborn French defence.
50'
J. Draxler gets yellow.
Germany threaten going forward but Sissoko puts in some excellent defensive work before eventually drawing a free-kick from Draxler, who is shown a yellow card for his troubles.
48'
France apply the pressure at the start of the second half. Giroud and Griezmann both have shots blocked in quick succession, but the Germans are able to deal with the subsequent corner.
46'
KICK-OFF! The referee blows his whistle and Germany get the ball rolling once more.
45' +2
Penalty goal scored by A. Griezmann for France!
FRANCE TAKE THE LEAD!!! Possibly the coolest man inside the Stade Velodrome, Griezmann steps up and makes no mistake in sending Neuer the wrong way. Despite being on the back foot for most of the half, the French will be in front at the break.
45' +1
B. Schweinsteiger gets yellow.
M. Özil gets yellow.
PENALTY TO FRANCE! The Italian referee blows his whistle and points to the spot after Schweinsteiger is penalised for handling Evra's header. It was difficult for him to get his arm out of the way, but it should not have been raised in the area. What a chance for the French!
Schweinsteiger is booked for his infringement.
Ozil is also shown a yellow card for his protest.
43'
P. Evra gets yellow.
Evra takes one for the team by bringing down Kroos, who was threatening to break on the counter-attack. He goes straight into the referee's notebook as a result.
42'
WHAT A WASTE! A mistake from Boateng allows Giroud to run clear through on goal. He just needs to acclerate into the area and get his shot away, but slows down and Howedes is able to come across before making a brilliant challenge. How crucial could that be?
41'
CHANCE! Some good play from the French down the left-hand side sees Evra feed the ball into Griezmann inside the box, but his shot is just the wrong side of the post.
39'
The French need to keep asking questions of the Germans going forward. There is no doubt that they have the quality to do so, but keeping the scoreline at 0-0 will be the priority at half-time.
37'
Pogba steps up for Les Bleus this time. However, the result is the same as Payet's earlier effort, as his delivery has plenty of whip but is never troubling Neuer, who gathers comfortably.
36'
E. Can gets yellow.
Can is the first player to go into the book for bringing down Griezmann 30 yards from goal. The Liverpool man is not happy with the decision, but this is a good opportunity for the French...
35'
Frande are awarded a free-kick just inside the German half after Pogba is fouled by Kroos. They should look to take their time with this and regain some kind of foothold in the contest.
33'
DANGER FOR FRANCE! The ball drops to Kroos in the box and he looks to thread it through for Muller, but Umtiti is well-positioned and able to boot it to safety.
31'
France have not kept a clean sheet against Germany in the last four meetings between the sides at major tournaments. They need to change the current pattern of game to avoid continuing that trend, however.
29'
The Germans are very much on the front foot at the moment. Once again, they are dominating possession and France are struggling to get near them. Les Bleus cannot afford to sit back too much, here.
27'
France clear the ball but only as far as Schweinsteiger, who bends an effort towards the top corner, but Lloris adjusts his feet to tip it over the bar. From the resulting corner, the keeper and skipper commands his area well to collect without too many difficulties.
25'
WELL HELD! There is plenty of whip on Payet's delivery towards goal, but Neuer watches it all the way into his arms.
24'
The French are awarded a free-kick 35 yards from goal and Payet is standing over the ball. It would take something special to beat Neuer from here, but he is certainly capable of producing it.
22'
France are hanging on at the moment as the Germans press them deep inside their own half. Les Bleus need to just get the ball clear rather than dallying on it for too long.
20'
It has been like a Basketball match over the past couple of minutes with end-to-end action. There has been no genuine threat on goal from either side so far, however.
18'
Pogba has been the subject of a world-record bid from old club Manchester United today, with the fee reported to be £100 million. It would certainly be money well-spent on the planet's most exciting young talent.
16'
Pogba opens his legs and strides into the German half before laying the ball off for Payet. However, the defence holds firm to stop the West Ham United midfielder from hurting them.
14'
GOOD SAVE! Can's strike on goal is not the cleanest but still creeping into the corner, and Lloris is forced to get down to push the ball away.
13'
CHANCE! Another good move from the Germans sees Muller unmarked in the box. However, he is always stretching for the ball in and can only direct it wide of the far post.
11'
The Germans have been very much on top over the past couple of minutes. They have settled into their rhythm and are enjoying plenty of time on the ball.
9'
Germany are enjoying a nice spell of play deep in the French half. Their opponents have plenty of men back, though, and will not budge easily.
7'
CHANCE! A neat interchange of passing around the German area sees space open for Griezmann to shoot. He goes for placement rather than power, though, and Neuer is able to palm it away to safety.
5'
It has been a purposeful start to the match from both sides. Neither seem willing to sit back and are looking to gain the edge on the early proceedings.
3'
Will Germany remain on course to hold the World and European crowns at the same time? Will France's determination home soil be enough to see them over the line? What a match we have in store at Stade Velodrome!
1'
KICK-OFF! Italian Nicola Rizzoli is the man in the middle this evening. He blows his whistle and France get the match underway.
We should be in an absolutely cracking contest between the two pre-tournament favourites. Germany are appearing in their sixth consecutive Semi-Final at a major tournament, while France are playing in the Last Four of this competition for the first time since they last lifted the trophy in 2000.
Good evening everyone! Welcome to LIVE text commentary of the second Semi-Final of Euro 2016, as World Champions Germany and hosts France lock horns at Marseille's Stade Velodrome for the right to play Portugal in Sunday's Final.
Joachim Low has not tinkered with his team too much over the course of the tournament but, while he sticks with the 4-2-3-1 formation, the German coach has been forced into three this evening from the side that beat Italy on penalties in the Quarter-Finals. Mario Gomez has been ruled out for the rest of the tournament with a torn hamstring, while Sami Khedira also misses out through injury and Mats Hummels is suspended after picking up his second yellow card of the event. However, captain Bastian Schweinsteiger has been passed fit and is restored to the starting line-up, as is Julian Draxler, while Emre Can comes in for his first appearance in France. Thomas Muller is deployed as the lone striker as he continues his search for a first European Championship goal.
'If it's not broke, don't fix it!' Those are clearly the thoughts of Didier Deschamps, who sticks with the same team that thumped Iceland 5-2 in the Last Eight. That means Samuel Umtiti keeps his place alongside Laurent Koscielny ahead of Adil Rami in the heart of defence, while Moussa Sissoko is preferred to N'Golo Kante in midfield. The 4-2-3-1 formation seemed to suit the French a lot more with the number 10 role benefiting Antoine Griezmann, who scored his fourth goal of the tournament, while he also linked up better with lone striker Olivier Giroud.
HERE THEY COME: The teams receive a fantastic reception from the Marseille crowd as they make their way out onto the field. The national anthems are about to be observed and kick-off is not far away...
HALF-TIME: GERMANY 0-1 FRANCE
Both of the goals Germany have conceded in this tournament have come from the penalty spot. It only takes a single goal to win a knockout match in competition football and could that be enough for Les Bleus? It certainly is after 45 minutes!
The French cannot afford to sit back too much in this second half. They need to up their performance after the break, while the Germans need to just keep doing what they have been but start testing Lloris on more occasions.
The players are back on the field and the second half is just moments away...
FULL-TIME: GERMANY 0-2 FRANCE
Antoine Griezmann scored twice as the hosts advance to face Portugal in Sunday's Final. They survived a barrage of German pressure in the first half before Griezmann's penalty gave them a lead at the break, before doing pretty much the same in the second until the Atletico man struck again to put the game beyond the World Champions.
That's all for a magnificent night in Marseille. Thank you for following the LIVE action from Stade Velodrome - hope you've enjoyed it. Until next time, have a very good evening!
