It's all Newcastle as they fire ball after ball into the Swansea penalty area, but the visitors' defence are doing extremely well to keep the determined hosts at bay. Surely time has run out for the Magpies?

Swansea have made their final substitution of the game, with Sigurdsson making way for Emnes.

77'
Sigurdsson breaks into the left-hand side of the penalty area before firing a shot that is deflected out for a corner. It's only cleared as far as Shelvey, who then tries to play a one-two with the Icelandic midfielder, but Armstrong is able to shepherd the ball out of play for a goal kick.

Swansea have decided to make their first substitution of the game, with Montero, who seems to be tiring, making way for 19-year-old Grimes.

65'
It's all Swansea at the moment as they look to keep hold of the ball and frustrate Newcastle, who just can't get on the ball.
63'
The Newcastle fans are becoming increasingly frustrated, and that's reflecting itself on the pitch, where the hosts are finding it incredibly difficult to keep the determined Swansea players at bay.
61'
M. Abeid enters the game and replaces D. Janmaat.
Janmaat seems to be struggling with an injury, possibly as a result of his first-half clash with Montero, and as a result he makes his way down the tunnel and is replaced by Abeid.

28'
Swansea work the ball out to Rangel, who is in acres of space on the right flank, and the Spaniard takes a quick touch before firing a poorly-hit cross-cum-shot that is easily dealt with by Krul.
26'
Newcastle are enjoying the vast majority of possession at the moment, and they look far more comfortable when push forward than they have done since the start of 2015.
24'
And now Newcastle are awarded a free kick at the other end of the pitch after Cabella is brought down on the left wing. Taylor curls it into the heart of the penalty area but it can only find the head of Williams in front of goal.

And we're off! Newcastle get us underway, attacking from right to left.
Good afternoon and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s Premier League clash between Newcastle United and Swansea City. My name is Ben Cullimore and I will be keeping you up to date with all of the action from St. James’ Park.
It’s been an absolutely woeful two months for Newcastle, who start the day in 14th place in the Premier League table, just seven points clear of the relegation zone and with only one win in their last eight games, with the rest of those seven clashes all ending in defeat. The Magpies’ losing streak now stands at six games, their worst in the top flight since 1977, leaving manager John Carver a dead man walking.
With only two wins from his 15 games in charge, it is virtually guaranteed that the club will choose not to give him the job permanently in the summer, but, with such a precarious gap between themselves and the dreaded drop zone, which division will they find themselves in come the start of the next campaign? Leicester City, who currently sit at the top of the relegation zone in 18th place, are on an excellent run of form, winning all of their last three league clashes, and, whilst it is unlikely given the short amount of time left, it is not outside the realms of possibility that Newcastle could slip into the bottom three in the final moments of the season.
In stark contrast to Newcastle, Swansea City are in inspired form and have surely been one of the most impressive teams this season. Despite a minor blip against Leicester last weekend, it has been an excellent campaign for Garry Monk’s men, and they head into today’s clash in eighth place in the table, just one point ahead of Stoke City and, with 10th-place West Ham United in free fall at the moment, on course to finish there if they are able to hold off the Potters over the next five games.
It won’t be easy, however, as they still have to face Stoke, Arsenal, Manchester City and Crystal Palace before the end of the season, meaning that today’s game against an out-of-form opponent is a must-win, to say the least. The Swans have recent history on their side, too, with Newcastle only managing to avoid defeat in one of the last five meetings between the two sides. That result came last October when the Magpies came from behind twice to draw 2-2 thanks to a Papiss Cisse double. The Senegalese striker’s seven-game suspension has hit his side hard, as they have only managed to score two goals since his incident with Manchester United’s Jonny Evans.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this afternoon…
Newcastle United substitutes: Woodman, Abeid, Obertan, Armstrong, Obertan, Gouffran, De Jong.
Swansea City substitutes: Tremmel, Bartley, Grimes, Fulton, Ki, Britton, Emnes.
Newcastle United XI (4-2-3-1): Krul; Janmaat, Williamson, Coloccini, Colback; Anita, Taylor; Gutierrez, Cabella, Perez; Riviere.
Meanwhile, Swansea boss Garry Monk has also made two alterations to the side that were beaten 2-0 by in-form Leicester in their last Premier League outing, with Sung-Yong Ki and Wayne Routledge making way for Nathan Dyer and Jefferson Montero, respectively.
John Carver has decided to make two changes to the Newcastle side that started last weekend’s defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur, with Jonas Gutierrez and Emmanuel Riviere coming into the squad to replace Mehdi Abeid and Yoan Gouffran, respectively. On the substitutes' bench, the Magpies manager is able to welcome back Dutch striker Siem de Jong for the first time since August
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: NEWCASTLE UNITED 1-1 SWANSEA CITY
It looked as if Newcastle were going to head into the half-time break with a well-deserved one-goal lead after lovely play in the final third of the pitch, but, once again, poor defending has cost them at the vital moment. Swansea have looked incredibly average so far, struggling to cause the hosts many problems in front of goal, but the Magpies have seemed nervous when dealing with set-pieces, and the visitors finally ended up punishing them with an excellent corner in the last minute of the half.
The two teams are making their way back out onto the pitch ahead of the start of the second half. Neither side have made any substitutions during the half-time break.
FULL-TIME: NEWCASTLE UNITED 2-3 SWANSEA CITY
There it is: Swansea hold on to pick up three well-deserved points, whilst John Carver has now become the first Newcastle manager to lose seven league games in a row. The nightmare continues for the hosts, who, after playing well for the majority of the first half, looked bereft of confidence after the visitors' first goal went in, and from then onwards it was relatively plain sailing for the South Wales side.
The result leaves Newcastle precariously close to the relegation zone - particularly seeing as Leicester City were victorious once again today, beating Burnley 1-0 - whilst Swansea remain in eighth place, now four points ahead of next opponents Stoke City.
My name is Ben Cullimore and it's been an absolute pleasure describing all of the action to you today. Until next time, goodbye!
