Buffon rues missed chances

Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon lamented his team's wastefulness after being held to a 1-1 draw by Croatia in their Euro 2012 clash on Thursday.
Cesare Prandelli's men were held to their second consecutive 1-1 draw after Mario Mandzukic cancelled out Andrea Pirlo's first-half free-kick.
Buffon was happy with Italy's display but was disappointed his team was not clinical as they wasted several chances during the first half.
"We had a good approach to the match and we wanted to win," he told
Rai Sport. "We only depend on ourselves to progress, I am sure we will go through if we defeat Ireland.
"We should have taken the chances we had in the first half, but it is true that Croatia are a good side and it is not easy to score against them.
"It is a shame that we drew the match, we defended really well and we suffered a goal in one of the few chances that Croatia had.
"But we are satisfied with our approach and we played a good match."
