Shaqiri excited by Bayern challenge

Bayern Munich's new signing Xherdan Shaqiri says he is looking forward to helping restore the club to the mantle of Germany's premier club.
The Swiss playmaker joined from FC Basel, and said he is determined to help the club stop Borussia Dortmund's bid for a third straight Bundesliga title.
"Clearly, the objective at FC Bayern is to win titles," Shaqiri said. "They haven't been winning for the last few years so they must get a title.
"I'm happy to take on the challenge and grab titles. I think if we show good performances we will win at least one trophy this season, I'm sure.
"It's difficult because Borussia Dortmund is a good team and they proved this year that they have good players. There are other teams in the Bundesliga, who have also strengthened themselves. I hope it's going to be exciting and I hope we will make it in the end."
Shaqiri was part of the Basel side that was routed 7-0 by Bayern in the Champions League last season, and the 20-year-old said he expects plenty of banter in the dressing room about that defeat.
"Of course I'm pretty sure that I have to take stick about the defeat," he said.
"My team-mates will talk about it and make fun of it. It was a bitter moment to lose 7-0 with FC Basel 7-0. But on the other hand I'm happy now and looking forward to celebrating a 7-0 with FC Bayern."
