Barring a last-minute Nicaragua goal, USA will go through to the next round as winners of Group B. That means they will play either Honduras or El Salvador in the quarters, which will not be decided until tomorrow, while Panama will finish as runners-up and take on Costa Rica.
90'
There will be three minutes added on at the end of this match.
88'
M. Miazga has scored a goal for United States! Assist by G. Zusi.
That goal was all in the delivery from Zusi, who picks up the assist.
USA MOVE TOP OF GROUP B! A glorious chance for USA to grab their third from the resulting set-piece, following a lengthy delay, and they take advantage! Zusi floats in a sensational cross towards the far post where Miazga meets it and clinically head home! It's a first international goal for the Chelsea centre-half!
85'
L. Copete gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
NICARAGUA DOWN TO 10 MEN! Well then, maybe they can't stay out of their own way! Copete with a careless foul here as he stands up Agudelo, essentially bodychecking him to the ground after the ball had gone. It's a clear yellow, and it's his second of the night!
84'
This isn't the all-out pressure you might have expected from the hosts, in need of a third goal. Nicaragua appear altogether comfortable in defence. USA's only real chances tonight have come off Nicaragua errors, so if they can stay out of their own way, they might just be able to hold here and keep the Americans in second.
82'
STAT: USA has made it to the Semifinals in 12 out of 13 tournaments, missing out only in 2000.
80'
Play finally set to resume here after a lengthy delay - time which should be added on following the 90 minutes.
78'
Lorente is in a lot of pain here as he comes out to parry a cross before having his trailing leg clattered into by Morris. It was a nasty collision, with both players needing medical attention here. It's turning into a lengthy delay, which does nothing to help USA as they search for the third goal they desperately need.
76'
Into the final 15 minutes and USA still need a goal, without reply, to top the group. That would set up a showdown with either the third-place side in Group A or C, while helping them avoid Costa Rica until at least the semi-finals.
Minute
Description
74'
J. Agudelo enters the game and replaces D. Dwyer.
The final USA change of the night brings Juan Agudelo into the match, with Dwyer giving way.
73'
LOVELY STRIKE! Nicaragua enjoying a bit of time in the ascendency, and they nearly halve the deficit! Barrera cuts inside on his right and drives a terrific strike at goal from 25 yards, but Hamid dives across to make the initial save, before scurrying over to collect the rebound as well!
71'
STAT: USA are unbeaten in their last 10 matches across all competitions since Bruce Arena took over as coach (W5 D5).
69'
E. Pavón enters the game and replaces B. García.
H. Niño enters the game and replaces B. Véliz.
Nicaragua make their final two changes with 20 minutes to play, the first of which sees Henry Nino enter the fray.
The other switch brings Eulises Pavon on for Garcia.
68'
USA continue their search for the third goal they need to move into top spot in Group B. They should be well above that mark now, but a pair of missed penalties in this second half leave them with work to do still to avoid a quarter-final date with Costa Rica, who they lost 4-0 to the last time they faced off.
66'
J. Morris enters the game and replaces J. Corona.
Jordan Morris, who scored a double against Martinique, is brought on with USA's second change, at the expense of Corona.
63'
Penalty saved by J. Llorente!
LORENTE PLAYING HERO FOR NICARAGUA! Absolutely unbelievable! Amazing, sensational, terrific - pick whatever adjective you like, but that is special! Cadena concedes another penalty as he slides into the back of Bedoya in the area, but Lorente comes up huge, guessing right to deny Corona this time!
Another case of opportunity missed for USA, as they are denied from the spot for a second time, Corona now failing to beat Lorente with his relatively weak penalty.
62'
P. Arriola enters the game and replaces K. Rowe.
USA make their first change of the match as scorer Rowe is replaced by Paul Arriola.
61'
Bodies crunch together in the air as Quijano and Corona contest for the ball, both of them hitting the turf hard. It's enough to prompt the training staff on for Nicaragua, as their wing-back appears to be a bit winded.
59'
J. Corona gets yellow.
Corona picks up a booking to go with his goal.
58'
INCHES WIDE! Close to a quick reply from Nicaragua! The ball is cleared following a free-kick, but only partially as it comes to Rosas, who sees his long-range effort deflect agonisingly wide of the far post!
56'
K. Rowe has scored a goal for United States! Assist by A. Bedoya.
Two USA goals and two assists for Bedoya.
USA DOUBLE THEIR ADVANTAGE! Nicaragua architects of their own downfall here as some careless passing in defence gifts USA possession. Dwyer cuts inside and lays off for Bedoya, who threads the ball through for Rowe, and the winger slots in at the near post, with the aid of another deflection, to score his first international goal!
54'
STAT: USA has gone an impressive 31-1-4 during the group stage at the Gold Cup.
52'
Disappointing in the end from Dwyer, who wins the debate as to who gets to take the free-kick, smashing his low effort straight into the wall. Two wasted opportunities from the Sporting KC striker.
51'
L. Copete gets yellow.
Penalty saved by J. Llorente!
LORENTE TO THE RESCUE! The penalty was not a bad one by any means, but the keeper guesses right and dives far to his right to make the save! Splendid stuff from Lorente!
Dwyer is attempting to become just the third USA international to score in each of his first three appearances, but he's denied his historic marker here!
Seconds later USA are back in attack and Copete is booked as he drags down Dwyer on the very edge of the penalty area!
50'
PENALTY TO USA! Nicaragua architects of their own downfall there as some sloppy play in defence allows Dwyer to be played in on goal, before being dragged down carelessly by Lopez, and the referee points straight to the spot!
48'
USA begin the second half on the front foot, but there's little encouragement to draw from their time in possession. They really are lacking in creativity and ingenuity. This match is calling out for the likes of a Gyasi Zardes.
46'
J. García enters the game and replaces L. Peralta.
One change for Nicaragua at the break as teenage striker Jorge Garcia replaces Peralta.
Back underway in Cleveland!
45' +1
HALF-TIME: NICARAGUA 0-1 USA.
45'
There will be one minute added on at the end of this first half.
43'
STAT: USA have now scored in 21 successive Gold Cup matches, dating back to a 5-0 defeat to Mexico in 2009.
42'
M. López gets yellow.
Lopez becomes the second Nicaragua player booked in the match.
40'
Nicaragua have taken control since falling behind, dictating possession smartly in midfield. This is a side that lost just 2-1 to Panama in their last match, and you can really see why here. They're a well-coached side and are very difficult to break down.
38'
Almost an immediate response from Nicaragua as Hamid is forced into action to parry Barrera's effort from 20 yards over the bar. White shirts flood into the area in anticipation of the subsequent corner, but the cross is collected easily by Hamid.
36'
J. Corona has scored a goal for United States! Assist by A. Bedoya.
That was a strong pull-back from Bedoya to pick out Corona in the centre.
THERE'S THE BREAKTHROUGH! It's hardly deserved, but Bedoya's cross in from the right finds its way to Corona at the top of the penalty area, and his effort takes a generous deflection to sneak in at the near post!
35'
Width has not been an issue for the US, but quality in attack and a link between midfield and the strikers very much has been. They haven't even threatened to pick out a good final delivery, and there's been minimal movement off the ball to open up space.
33'
All USA have tested thus far are the stick on Lorente's gloves. The keeper has been called off his line to claim a number of crosses into the box, but it speaks more to the poor quality of the American's deliveries than anything else.
31'
STAT: Nicaragua have lost all five of their previous Gold Cup matches, outscored 12-1 over that span.
29'
The small contingent of Nicaragua fans who made the trip are growing louder with each passing minute - as is the confidence of their players. This has been a clinical and professional display from them thus far, frustrating and limiting USA to merely a whimper in attack.
27'
To the shock of everyone in the stadium, Nicaragua have actually enjoyed more possession through the first 25 minutes. USA look rather depleted of energy. They need to open the scoring in a big way - it's time to dig deep.
25'
When USA do get their chances in attack, they have been awfully wasteful. Offsides and fouls in the area continue to let Nicaragua off the hook, and this pro-USA crowd is beginning to grow a bit restless.
23'
Nicaragua remain very well organised, in both midfield and defence, as they have prevented USA from settling into any sort of groove. It's all rather pedestrian from the hosts in this first half, as they struggle to find consistency in possession.
21'
STAT: Bruce Arena holds an 9-0-2 mark in the Group Stage of the Gold Cup.
19'
GOOD EFFORTS! Barrera puts in some clever work on the left to work the ball free of Zusi, before unloading a venomous half-volley towards goal from 25 yards, but it inches wide at the near post. Back the other way come USA, and Zusi does everything right in the build-up to create space for a shot, but he fires straight at Lorente!
17'
USA need to show more urgency tonight. Forget the fact that they have to win 3-0 or more to win the group, they also need to instill a bit of confidence in the side following a string of unconvincing performances. There's a lot on the line for them tonight, and you know they will be desperate to avoid a date with Costa Rica in the quarter-final.
15'
L. Peralta gets yellow.
Peralta goes into the book for a hard foul near the halfway line.
BLOCKED! Finally starting to pick up now as USA get forward and space opens up for Dwyer to have a shot, with the aid of a generous deflection, but Quijano lunges in to block the effort from six yards! Important block, that.
13'
DECENT OPPORTUNITY! Nicaragua muster their first attack of the night as a cross in from the right puts USA under pressure. The danger is cleared, but McCarty is subsequently stripped of possession by Galeano, who fires just wide of the far post seconds later.
11'
There's not a great tempo to this match through the opening 10 minutes. An accumulation of fouls, both sides guilty in this regard, have resulted in a plethora of stoppages, preventing the game from settling into any sort of rhythm.
9'
STAT: Nicaragua is the 97th different international opponent the USA has faced since beginning play in 1916.
7'
A back-pass puts Lorente under unnecessary pressure as the keeper's errant first-touch gets away from him, but he's able to recover. There's just no fluidity to USA's play at the moment, which can perhaps be attributed to all the new faces in their team - 11 to be exact.
5'
There's a good energy about Nicaragua in these early stages. They're pressuring the ball as they close their gaps with authority. No hesitation or early jitters have crept into their game, making for a bright start for them from the off.
3'
Early pressure from the United States from a set-piece, but Nicaragua are able to head clear. Pressure stays on, but some stout organization from the visitors forces USA to retreat all the way back to keeper Hamid.
1'
AND THEY'RE OFF! Nicaragua in white as they get us underway, attacking right to left, with USA in their red and blue stripes.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage from FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland as USA aim to claim top spot in Group B when they take on Nicaragua!
Four points through two matches is not a bad haul for USA, but their performance through the group stage falls far short of impressive, following up a lackluster 1-1 draw to Panama in their opener with a narrow 3-2 victory over a mostly semi-pro Martinique side.
The deep-seeded issues within Bruce Arena’s side date back before the start of his second tenure with the national team. Jurgen Klinsmann left in the midst of a very mediocre period for the Americans, a rut they have yet to pull themselves out of.
Their saving grace here is the big step down in competition ahead of the knockout stage, but they still must come out will all guns blazing tonight. To claim top spot in Group B they must defeat Nicaragua by at least three goals. Failure to do so would set up a daunting showdown with Costa Rica in the quarter-finals, with Honduras or El Salvador awaiting the group winners.
Nicaragua come into the match on the back of a strong performance against Panama in a losing effort, but they did manage to score their first Gold Cup goal. Now they set their sights on a reeling USA side as they aim for a first result in the history of the competition.
SUBS: Nino, E. Tellez, Chavarria, D. Tellez, Pavon, B. Montiel, Pinel Figueroa, Veliz, M. Montiel, Lopez, J. Garcia, Maradiaga.
Does Bruce Arena feel a need for change, or is he taking for granted tonight's opponents? Chalk it up to whatever you want, but the manager has made 11 - that's right, ELEVEN - changes to his side from the 3-2 victory over Martinique. He's replaced the entire starting line-up, quite shockingly. You don't see that often in a major tournament.
Among the notable inclusions are Chelsea centre-half Matt Miazga, earning just his third international cap, as he starts alongside Graham Zusi, Matt Besler and Jorge Villafana in defence. The midfield should take on the shape of a diamond, with Dax McCarty anchoring, Joe Corona attacking and Alejandro Bedoya and Kelyn Rowe on the flanks, supporting Chris Pontius and Sporting Kansas City revelation Dom Dwyer.
Henry Duarte makes three changes to the Nicaragua side following their narrow defeat to Panama. Defender Cyril Errington and midfielders Luis Peralta and Bryan Garcia replace Erick Tellez, Carlos Chavarria and Eulises Pavon. Luis Galeano and Daniel Cadena, who crafts his trade in Iceland's third division, make up the strike force.
Joe Corona has USA ahead at the interval, but only by the skin of their teeth following a rather underwhelming performance through 45 minutes, in which Nicaragua very much held their own. Still plenty of work to be done in the second half, with Bruce Arena's side needing to win by a three-goal margin to claim top spot in the group.
Two missed penalties don't come back to haunt USA as they go through as winners of Group B thanks to goals from Joe Corona, Kelyn Rowe and Matt Miazga. Nicaragua provided stern opposition, and looked poised to keep the scoreline at 2-0, but Miazga's late header saves the Americans from a date with Costa Rica in the quarter-finals.
That's all for our live coverage, thanks for following along. Goodbye!
